Indoor/Outdoor – Plant/Garden Frogs

Spring is here and frogs are starting their chorus of wonderful sounds.

We make these out of a discontinued Bullseye Ring Mottle Glass which is prefect glass – fortunately we still have a few sq.ft. to make more.

The eyes are green glass nuggets and we also use yellow ones, along with copper or black patina on the soldering.

The large ones are about 6 x 4 inches and the smaller ones about 4 x 3.5 inches, attached to a metal rod which can vary in length depending on whether one wants to have them indoors in a potted plant or out doors in the garden.

Canada Geese

We are sure lots of folks across the west have seen and heard the return of the Canada Geese. A wonderful sight and their distinctive honking sounds, you know that warmer weather is not far off.

It’s springtime in Alberta and for the past month or so Canada Geese have been returning by the thousands. They stay and nest all over Alberta and it will not be long before we see goslings with their parents.

However you can enjoy them year round with one of these sun catchers.

Montana Bitterroot Flowers

In 2010 we made this as a gift for The Order of Eastern Star in Montana USA.

The Bitterroot is the state flower for the State of Montana, which was adopted on February 27, 1895. Our sun catcher measures about 7 x 7 inches.

UGG Elevator Scapa Alberta

There is a sign post and a couple of homes north west of Hanna Alberta, where Scapa used to be. The elevator is long gone and so are the residents save for those homes mentioned above. You need to drive a gravel road to see the Scapa sign. We made this for a friend many years ago. We have since managed to obtain the original United Grain Growers Emblem which we now use on UGG Elevators.

Abstract Cats

These cool cats are a great sun catcher for cat lovers. They measure 8 inches high x 5 inches wide. We used a Spectrum Black/White/Clear Baroque glass for the one below. The second picture is of a grey cat. The grey cat is the first piece of stained glass that Flory ever made way back in 1999 in Arizona. Over the years we have made these in various cat and collar color combinations
