Cattle Brand Soderglen Ranches Ltd.

If our memory serves us correctly we were asked by friends of the owners of Solderglen Ranches Ltd located north of Airdrie Alberta to make this panel of their Cattle Brand. We used  red Bullseye glass for the brand and border. Having a diamond saw allowed us to make the S in one piece.

Scroll Saw Sailing Ship

Our friend Allan Couper of Innisfail made many different scroll saw pieces which were designed in such a way that we could slide a piece of stained glass into the item which was then securely held in place with a wooden insert held in place with small brass screws.

Together we made only a few of these items and unfortunately Allan is no longer able to work his magic with his scroll saw, so those clients who purchased them are indeed very fortunate to have Allan’s gifted work coupled with stained glass.

Here is the scroll saw sailing ship with a  stained glass red sky in the evening – sailors delight –

Cattle Brand Saber Ranches Alberta

This is the cattle brand for Saber Ranches which is located east of Penhold in Central Alberta. Long time friends of the ranch commissioned us to make the ranches brand about 8 – 9 years ago. We used Bullseye’s 1311 for the saber along with a red Spectrum granite and Spectrum’s Seedy for the background.

Loon Oval Panel 2006

In 2006 we made this Oval Loon Panel for a client who now lives in Calgary. We used Spectrum’s Baroque Black/White/Clear for the Loon and it was cut from one piece of glass to ensure matching and flow of the colors. The sky is a Kokomo, and we used Uroboros for the hills, with Spectrum Sky Blue Wispy and a very pretty darker Kokomo for the water. The panel was edged with a sculptured brass along with black patina and polish.

The next picture shows a close up of the Loon and the detail of the Spectrum Baroque glass.

Rose Vase Panel 2006

This Rose Vase Panel was a wedding gift that a client commissioned us to make for them in 2006. We used some very beautiful Bullseye glass for the rose along with Uroboros glass for the boarder spaced with 1 inch square bevels.
