Candle Holder Set

Some 10 years ago we made this beveled candle holder set using mirrored glass for the bases wrapped in lead came, 1 inch bevels of various length’s and Spectrum’s green hammered glass. As they were somewhat tricky to put together, black electrical tape helped hold the various pieces in place. Then with spot soldering we secured their positions as well as to each base. Then carefully finished soldering the outside and inside seams,  When working with mirrored glass one needs to put clear nail polish on the reverse side along the edges to be ground, as by doing so prevents the mirror coating from chipping off during grinding. They take time to solder, clean and polish but well worth the effort for this beautiful stained glass candle set.

Birthstone Angel – Sierra’s

Our second granddaughter, Sierra was born in early December and her birthstone color is Blue Topaz. We used Spectrum’s Clear Granite Iridescent for the wings and their Deep Aqua for the body, with fine silver chain soldered into the seams for hanging. The facial features were hand painted by Flory.

Poppy’s Birthstone Angel

Here is Poppy’s Birthstone Angel. Our 1st granddaughter who was born in March. We used Spectrum’s Sky Blue wispy for March’s Aquamarine birthstone color. The angel wings were made from Spectrum’s Iridescent Rainwater Glass.

Dylan’s Birthstone Angel

Our forth grandson, Dylan was born in February and his birthstone color is Amethyst. We used a very pretty Spectrum glass that comes very close to portraying the Amethyst color for his birthstone angel.
