Sprint Racing Car

This Sprint Racing Car was made many years ago from a photo for our son Greg who wanted to give it as a gift to one of his racing friends in Edmonton, Alberta.  The center of the wheels was made using sheet foil with a thin layer of solder which gives the chrome look. Greg helped to complete the car by adding the lettering.

“Don’t Look Up”

Many years ago before we had a digital camera we made this from “Pattern of the month” which is available on Spectrum’s website under their free pattern section.

We had to use our saw to cut most of the glass and this proved difficult at times as Spectrum’s Waterglass is somewhat soft and can easily scratch. We did finally figure out when doing any type of intricate cutting and even grinding that if you glue paper to the back side of the glass it will prevent most or all scratching during the cutting and grinding processes.

Needless to say we would not make another as it was very time consuming.

Stock Race Car

Some 10 plus years ago we had a client commission us to make from a photograph a stained glass panel of a stock race car.

Flory did the art work on the car and together we came up with the panel design from the photograph,  it was a neat commission that our client gave as a gift.

Horse Shoe

Over the years we have made a few of these, in fact a similar one hangs in our home and it was the first piece of stained glass that Bob made some 14 years ago.

Cattle Brand Soderglen Ranches Ltd.

If our memory serves us correctly we were asked by friends of the owners of Solderglen Ranches Ltd located north of Airdrie Alberta to make this panel of their Cattle Brand. We used  red Bullseye glass for the brand and border. Having a diamond saw allowed us to make the S in one piece.
