A client wanted joined Cargill and Pool Grain Elevators that were in the town of Durban Manitoba which we believe no longer exists.

Niobe Alberta is located just north of Innisfail and all that remains is an operating grain elevator. Not long ago a train wreck just south of the elevator could have destroyed it but luck was on it’s side. We were fortunate to obtain the AWP emblems from the Grain Exchange in Calgary which adds authenticity.
A client asked if we could reverse the grain elevator design and here it is featuring the Town of Claresholm, Alberta which is located approximately halfway between Calgary and Lethbridge. The glass represents the colors of the Alberta Wheat Pool Elevators. Originally the Wheat Pool elevators were a dark reddish color, but later were changed to a green. Unfortunately most of these prairie sentinels that could be seen for miles across the west have all but vanished. However you can enjoy them year round as a reminder of their grandeur in a stained glass sun catcher hanging in your window.

Many years ago we made this “There’s No Place Like Home” and donated it as a silent auction item for a Good Sam Samboree in Stettler, Alberta. This stained glass piece is approximately 10 inches square, tinned wire used for various parts along with attaching the Blue Birds creates a 3D effect.
This design was featured in Glass Patterns Quarterly Summer 2001 edition.
