Blue Bird – Tree Swallow Bird Houses – Ryley & Brady

For Christmas 2013 we purchased these bird houses from The Wild Bird Store in Calgary. After staining the outside of each we fabricated and attached a small stained glass design of a Blue Bird/Tree Swallow, along with a name plate so both boys would be able to keep track of their bird houses and new residents. Recently they and their dad put up these bird houses and more pictures can be found on their mom’s picture blog at the following link.

Red Breasted Nuthatches – Spring 2014

These Red Breasted Nuthatches measure approximately 5.5 inches x 5.5 inches. We used Spectrum’s Black/White/Clear, along with their Thunderhead glass, and a reddish orange for the body. These were just shipped to The Wild Bird Store in Calgary and are available from them. Nuthatches can be found across Canada in our spring, summer to fall months.

Wren – 2014

Wrens are very neat little birds, the House and Winter Wrens can be seen in Alberta. Our stained glass Wren measures approximately 4 inches x 4.5 inches. We used Spectrum’s Pearl Opal Hawkwings with amber yellows for the belly and beak. These Wrens will soon be available at The Wild Bird Store located in Calgary. Their website is www.wildbirdstore.ca check out this wonderful store. You can also access The Wild Bird Store via our website in our Partners section which can be found on the top left of our website under Home.

Loon Panel Spring of 2011

In the spring of 2011 we made this Loon panel which was commissioned as a gift by the Order of Eastern Star. The panel measures 16 inches wide by 9.5 inches high. The body of the Loon was made from one piece of Spectrum’s Black/White/Clear Baroque. For the hills we used a Uroboros Herringbone and the lighter blue in the water was Spectrum’s Sky/Blue wispy and the darker water glass was a Kokomo.

Chili Children March 2014

In early 2000 we made a couple of these and forgot to take a picture, seems we did it again. However this time we made 4 different Chili Children and had to take photos after we had delivered them in March 2014 to The White Raven Emporium in Didsbury. The measure approximately 7 inches high with various Chili Children attached at different places. The red glass used is Spectrum’s Cherry Red Cathedral.
