Flying Bald Eagle Circle Panel 2020

This flying Bald Eagle panel measures 20 inches in diameter. A local friend asked us to make this for her husband for a December Birthday/Christmas 2020 gift.

We used Spectrum Sly Blue/White Wispy for the sky and Spectrum/Oceanside Clear/White “Pearl White” for the clouds. In the Eagle we used a combination of OGT Brown on Gold Streaky Granite and Spectrum Dark Amber & White Translucent and for the white feathers, Spectrum Clear/White Feather White, along with some Black Waterglass and a solid Spectrum Yellow for the beak. The frame was a 3/4 inch zinc came made round with our came bender.

The are 195 pieces of stained glass in this panel and it took us about 2 months to complete.

Prairie Lanterns 2020

Here is another selection of the Prairie Lanterns that we have been making over the past 5 – 6 months. We used mirror glass for all of their bases, which adds a new light dimension when votive candles are used.

Aspen Leaf – The B Nest Studios – Red Deer Alberta

Earlier this year we were asked if we could make an Aspen Leaf for a new sign titled “The B Nest Studios” Upon further discussions with Bee & Tad of “The B Nest Studios” we decided to donate this aspen leaf to them.

Why – well Bee and Tad’s first book recently won an international book award. This children’s book is titled “What Bee will you Bee”, the story by Bee and wonderful, dazzling artwork by Tad.

This fall The B Nest Studios teamed up with The Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre and they opened a store in September at the Bower Mall in Red Deer, Alberta. The Child Advocacy Centre allows kids and families that are affected by child abuse to get the help they need right now. They have professionals from every arm of the system there to get kids into safe spaces and places, without making them bounce around buildings and people for weeks. There are RCMP, social services, psychiatrists, social workers, medical professionals, lawyers and many other people that meet on their own time once a week to get these cases through as fast as possible and get these kids back to what they should be doing… being kids

We feel so lucky to have been able to participate in a small way in Bee & Tad’s amazing journey.

The Aspen Leaf measures approximately 10 inches high by 9 inches wide. It was attached to their metal sign as shown below.

Chickadee Nite Lights 2020

The Wild Bird Store in Calgary asked if we could make Nite Lights for them. They wanted handmade in Alberta Stained Glass items.  We converted our Chickadee and Alberta Rose design for one and came up with another Chickadee design for the 2nd one.

These Nite Lights measure approximately 4 inches wide x 3 inches high and they are attached to an Ivory Base night light fixture with a white light bulb.

These Nite Lights can be bought at the Wild Bird Store in Calgary – located at 5901 – 3 Street SE., Calgary, Alberta. The link to their website is    https://www.wildbirdstore.ca/

Garden Bee and Poppy 2020

One of our clients often closes her messages with a Buzzzzzz notation which prompted us to design a rod poppy with a bumble bee attached as a gift to her.

This is another design to our Garden collection of plant pokes.
