115 + Year Old Came Window Restoration November 2015

This is a sneak peak of the 2nd very old came window restorations that we are doing for a museum.

Unfortunately due to the damage we had to find some similar colored glass for the centre portion as it was impossible to find matching glass for such an old window.

The first picture shows the window before restoration and the second picture after completion.

In due course we will be providing a very detailed account of these windows. We still have 1 more to do which fortunately has no broken glass, along with a fairly large stained glass door insert.

As you can see from the above photo the window was in extremely poor condition.

The above photo shows the completed restoration, and it was safely transported to the museum where it will go on display.  We have no idea who constructed these windows originally, however have a reasonable determination as to their age.

3D Hummingbird Circle Panel

Many years ago before we had a digital camera we made this 3D Hummingbird Hibiscus Flower panel for a neighbour. The panel measures 12 inches in diameter, with the circle background being Spectrum’s Iridescent Waterglass. The 2nd layer is the Hibiscus flowers and the 3rd layer the hummingbird and the flower stamens. The panel hangs in a transom window over Cindy’s front door facing west, and has provided years of enjoyment for her family and visitors alike.

TOPS Flower Panel Gift September 2015

TOPS is a weight loss group with many chapters internationally. We donated this panel as a raffle item for an Area Recognition Day recently held here in Innisfail, Alberta. This panel measures approximately 6 inches wide by 10 inches high.

Poppy Panel 2015

We made this Poppy panel which measures 5 x 7 inches designed from a painting we bought while in Victoria BC. this past July 2015. It was given as a gift by our young granddaughter’s parents to her daycare provider who was returning to school. Their  2 1/2 year old daughter had a wonderful time at her 1st daycare home and they wanted to honour her dedication and help she provided for their daughter Poppy.

The next picture is the painting from which our stained glass design was taken from. The painting was done by Patricia K. Plank and she gave us her blessing to make a stained glass rendition.

Chewie is now home

If you check out our first posting titled “Chewie” you can learn about this wonderful dog who passed away several years ago. We showed “Chewie” many times at our markets, unfortunately he fell off a table a few years ago at one of our markets and had to be completely rebuilt.

A few weeks ago we took him out  to the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia and he now hangs in Rene & Laurel’s home over looking the ocean.  As “Chewie” was their dog for many years they are more than pleased that he will now be with them in stained glass for years to come. Enjoy
